To Love (means we always will)

Updating you all, one at a time. I think that's easier.

This was... About some people... Well... It's just about people in general. It was inspired by several people I work with, but not directly related to them.
I think it's a message... A call to stand up for yourself, and stop numbing yourself. Life hurts sometimes. We get stronger by pressing on despite the pain. But some people never grow. They do whatever they can to numb away the pains of life... And when that numbness wears off they feel even more pain, and so they just keep numbing and numbing...
This poem is about dealing with that pain of facing yourself and your own demons.
But never forget that you're never alone in the battle. You have friends and family who love you. And love lasts forever, no matter what fights you've had in the past. So someone who loved you once... Will always love you, if it's true love... Because love never lies.
While I've been typing this up, an organization called To Write Love On Her Arms came to mind. If you've never heard of them, you really should look them up. They have an amazing message and story of rescue and love.

Do the needles numb it away
Living to erase
The feeling that keeps you alive
Replaced by the vapors that keep you high
Covering up what's there
It doesn't mean that it's gone away
Pain is here to remind us
That we've growing yet to make

And every day the house stood
Painting over the cracks never made it stronger
But over time
After the years had taken their toll
The foundation weakened
I believe his mind's beginning to crack...
You can't just ignore them
Push them away
The pain just gets worse
And there's no cure
But to face yourself
Head on
Draw your sword and shield
Uncover the mirror
And uncloak your masked face
Today
It is time
Stand
Face your demons
Leave nothing left to hide
Decipher every lie
Face your greatest fears
We'll be here by your side
We still love you
Forever
Means we always will
Stop running
Stand your ground

The Cold (That Carries Away)

So I suppose I owe you all some poetry. :-)

I'm not sure when I wrote this... :-( I didn't write down the day... :-) silly me. All I know are the times that I wrote, and that I wrote it between March 16 and March 22 of 2008.
I included a short clip of myself singing the second half of this poem, but I'm not sure if that will make it to my blog (I'm texting this from my phone). :-)

(15:07)
Grab your coat
As you walk toward the door
The dark is cold outside
But the winter is calling your name
Calling you out
It's time to run (from the truth)
Because you've had enough
And you're dying to just
Be free of guilt
(continued at 20:55)
So close the door
Tight behind you as you go
Don't say a word
Just wait silent
For it goes without saying
And the quieter you are
The further
It carries you away
For it goes without saying

The line "it goes without saying" is referencing The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster.

The Tree...

I was riding my bike at the park the other day... April 8, 2008. I stopped and took this picture. :-)
I keep scrolling past it in my phone, trying to figure out what it is, and where it came from. It looks like a professional picture to me, so I'm thinking 'where did that come from, why did I save it?' And then I think, 'oh wait, did I take that? No way... Not with my phone...?'
But sure enough. This picture was taken at the park, with my cell phone. :-)
Enjoy.

Just dropping by for anyone who reads...

I bought new bed sheets Monday. Just randomly...

Been buying too much music lately...
Bought some books, but have yet to start reading (Prayer by Philip Yancy, and Mere Christianity, and The Great Divorce, both by C.S. Lewis.)
I read the first three chapters of 1 Samuel Sunday morning...
I wish I had some friends to hang out with or something...

Right now I think I'm gonna head to the park and ride my bike. :-)
I always enjoy smiling at the people I pass, even if I'm not truly happy... I just love being out in the nature and creation of God. So I smile. And it makes me happy to see other people enjoying the beauty as well.

"We will spark a Myriad of lights"

Well, there's a lot to update all of you on, but... It's not happening today.

Or at least not right now.

But, I went and saw The Myriad Last night.
It was AWESOME!!!!

I got to The Swamp... Being 21, I could come and go as I pleased. :-)
It was an amazing place.
RIGHT ON the Beach.
The sides were open... it was just really cool. You'd have to go and see it to understand... I can't really explain it.

Well, The Myriad played first. It was a rather short set, and I was kind of sad, but it still ROCKED!!!
After they played, I rushed back to the merch to meet them, and I did :-)
And I spent the rest of the night back there hanging out with them. I mainly spoke with John Roger, and Jonathan.
I'd say Switchfoot put on a great show... because they did... but... I missed most of it.
I will see them later in April, so I wanted to spend this time with The Myriad, and I'm so glad I did. :-)

Anyway... Here are the PICTURES!!! (Maybe I'll get the video on someday... if I ever figure out how... :-)
