Chinese Poem 自从第一天我看到你 (我就想) From the First Day I Saw You (I Thought)

Wow, so it's been a while.

I have been through basic training (last year). I've now just completed the 63 week course in Mandarin Chinese that I was struggling so much with before.

During the course I wrote a poem in Chinese. I've told some friends about it, and you continue to show interest in my poetry. Even if it's in Chinese. So I'm here to share it with you. And I'll try to translate it for you... even though... different parts could probably be translated into several different things in English. It may also seem extremely cheesy in English, so... we'll see. :-)

“自从第一天我看到你(我就想)”

自从第一天我看到你
我就想没关系
你觉得有点胖(没关系)
谁可能想你不是十分可爱?
你的眼睛及你的笑
我就被催眠
你的耳朵与你的头发
请你当我的小熊猫?

你的唇吻和发声音
请对我笑跟永远说话
从第一天我看到你,我就想
世上没有更漂亮。

Okay, now to try and translate... ehh... maybe I shouldn't. I should leave you to figure out the Chinese for fun :-) leave you hanging.

"From the First Day I Saw You (I Thought)"

From the first day I saw you
I though it doesn't matter
If you feel a little chubby (it doesn't matter)
Who could possibly think you aren't adorable?
Your eyes and your smile
I've been mesmerized
Your ears and your hair
Please be my little panda?
Your lips and the sound of your voice
Please smile for me and speak forever
From the first day I saw you, I thought
There is no one in the world who is more beautiful.

I went to see Mae on their farewell tour this past Wednesday and Terrible Things were one of the opening bands. I really like them. The band members are formerly of Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria and Hot Rod Circuit. Check them out.
And Mae was of course, aMAEzing. Absolutely aMAEzing. Sad thing to see them go.
