Harry Potter and the Nostalgic Adventure

Blog from MySpace.

So, I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Friday night. I was slightly disappointed cause so much was cut out, but overall it was well put together. Well, anyway, it was a very interesting experience, going to see the movie. I was with Josiah and Jesse (guy from the Baptist College of FL with Josiah).
First off, I think Josiah left the theater with like 3 new girlfriends. Not really, but he did keep the 3 girls next to us entertained throughout the movie with random silly outbursts. His outbursts were funny, but they started getting annoying cause it seemed like he was flirting with the girls (which I know he wasn't meaning to).
So yeah, # 1, Josiah ends up with three girlfriends from Alabama.
Second odd thing about the night, Jesse seemed to be genuinely TERRIFIED at certain points in the movie. So, while Josiah was making the girls laugh... Jesse was making me laugh because he was hanging on to my arm trembling. It was an interesting experience.
So, # 2, I had a guy hanging on my arm trembling with fear.
And then to top off the night, I was feeling extremely nostalgic. I missed Megan terribly for some reason. One of the 3 girls next to us looked very much like Rachel, and Hermione (from the movie, Emma Watson) looks almost exactly like Tammy. I'm sure some of you don't know any of those 3 stories, but I think I'll just call them like the 3 great affairs of my teenage years (or something).
Anyway, to be brief, whatever went on between Tammy and me is what caused me to start writing poetry quite a few, several years ago (back in 2002 thinks I). Some of these poems are still among my favorites. Rachel had me writing more of my favorite poems. And Megan..... well.... She has been my one and only "girlfriend" in my 19 years of life thus far, and well.... Anyway, the girls in these stories all have at least one thing in common.... I loved them dearly.... To me, they were like a rare treasures, but they apparently weren't mine to claim.
So, that's what I have to say about the Harry Potter movie. To explain more history on my danger of going to new Harry Potter movies.... when I saw the third movie in (I think) summer of 2004, I was depressed for like 3 weeks because of how much Emma Watson resembles my friend Tammy. At least it wasn't that bad for this movie. This movie I was feeling nostalgic going into, so I came out feeling disappointed that so much had been left out. The house elves weren't even mentioned (honorably or dishonorably). Rita Skeeter's part in the story was, for the most part, left out. And what's with the rock band at the ball??? For shame. They should have just made two parts to the movie. Fans wouldn't have cared. As a matter of fact, fans would probably be happier. And the makers would have made more money. Usually I'm against such tactics, but for the betterment of some things I would condone the use of.... um making extra money.... or something....
Anyway, it was a pretty good movie, if you haven't read the book you probably won't be as disappointed as I am, but you will still probably feel like there's something missing, and to be honest, there's quite a bit missing.
I'll stop boring you with my trifles though.... And so with...

So here I am

Blog from MySpace.

Current mood: lonely
Category: Blogging Okay, so here it is, something like 02:13 in the morning, I have to write an essay in my 1102 class tomorrow (Tuesday, so today really). I'm not really at all prepared for this essay, but I don't care.
I'm really cold.
I'm not too tired.
I'm looking through pictures of when I was last visiting Jacksonville and some of them are about to make me cry.
I miss my family.
I'm feeling really lonely right now.
MySpace is going postal on me (but what's new about that?)

I got to visit the Webb's new house. Thank you for letting me stay.

Jonathan and I fell asleep on Austin's bed, so Austin took my camera.

Jonathan, Matt, and Austin in the crowd at the Emery concert. (Doesn't Austin look like he belongs in a band?)

Look Lauren, Zane likes coffee too.

He was dancing like crazy while we watched Son-In-Law.

I got an A on my presentation in Psychology today. I did a good job. I'm happy about that.
I wrote a short poem like a week ago...

11-07-2005 (00:40)
Arise and take reign
Of this throne you've been robbed
I've crowned my nameless self ruler
A black arrow pierced heart
The very warmth of my blood
Be it stolen away
And passed by the dying stalks
To know the dream is dead

I don't think it has much of anything to do with the pictures I'm seeing, cause even seeing pictures of people I don't really even know are making me sad. It's an overwhelming sadness...
I don't want it to be here.
Anyway, I guess it's about a quarter till three now. I guess I'll go to bed. I'm hungry. Maybe eating would help.

I Went... I Saw... and Now I'm Trying to Conquer

Blog from MySpace.

So, my trip to Jacksonville was a wonderful, well-needed vacation.
I got there Thursday evening and picked up Austin and Jonathan for the Emery, He Is Legend, As Cities Burn show. Turns out He Is Legend didn't show up which is a real bummer, but the other two were GREAT, and I got to see Lauren. I Got lots of pictures of Emery but we were at a bad angle to get good pictures of As Cities Burn, so I only have a couple pictures of them.
Friday I hung out with the Webb's all day, just so I didn't stress out trying to go visit everybody (which had been my original plan). So I played video games (Halo) with Charlie, and watched Beyond the Gates of Splendor (documentary on South American tribe who killed 4 missionary men, and then their wives went back to the tribes and taught them about Christ's love.
Friday night I went with all the Mr. Webbs to a "Men's Retreat" at the church. Paul Kyle was leading. I miss his music. That was great. Friday night and Saturday morning, that was.
Saturday afternoon I went over to visit Lui (Daniel) and we went over and picked up Irina. Then we went out to lunch and finally decided on Panera. Lui had some real handcuffs since he's the most awesome cop-in-training I know. So he handcuffed me and escorted me into Panera. Irina and I both ordered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and the people laughed at us (it's a kids menu item... and I have a beard....).
After lunch (yes, Lui took the cuffs off so that I could eat, but only after I had injured myself) we went walking through the plaza. We went to the dollar store and bought some random stuff: Certificates of Achievement, Birthday Cards, rubber skull that you squeeze and bugs pop out of it's eye sockets (Irina had wanted the one with eyes, but got the one with flies), Cap gun with caps, glasses with a feather mustache and eyebrows. Stuff like that. Then we went to some smelly-good lotion store, but we weren't there long.
Back in the car... Oh, I can't forget to mention the Du Rag we got at the dollar store... That's vital information. So, back in the car, Lui dawns the du rag and I slip on the glasses with a big nose and feathers. Irina gets the cap gun and we pose for pictures. Back at Lui's house we took more pictures while still sitting in the car. We recorded a six minute video that is hilarious. We passed around all the items (minus the cap gun that didn't work so well). We passed around the camera, du rag, glasses, and skull thingy, all the while recording. It is awesome.

I thought I had to leave to visit with my cousin Paul, so I said my goodbyes and left. Turned out Paul and I decided to meet later that night, so I called Lui back and told him I was pullin' a "U-eey" (however you spell that). We decided to go play tennis, so we headed back over to Irina's house to get rackets. While there, I jumped on the Trampoline, and Irina let her dog out and she got in the mud (the dog, Jasmine, I think, not Irina). So, we decided that Lui had to get home soon to cut the lawn, so we walked Jasmine and then after Irina drew in the dirt on my car, Lui and I left. Irina is an amazing artist... and she's Russian too!

I went back home (the Webb's house) and hung out there a little while, reading Runny Babbit by Shel Silverstein. Austin and I left to go see my cousin Paul and go to a concert afterwards to see Brianna. Seeing Paul was great. We met a Chick-fil-A and talked for about an hour. I was really glad to get to see him.
Afterward we head over to Murray Hill (I miss that place....) for the concert. I stayed out front mostly, just hanging out with Brianna, but when Rino started I headed in to watch. Rino is awesome. You should check them out if you don't know who they are. Afterward I claimed that Brianna owed me a hot chocolate, and so we went to Dunkin' Donuts, but they were out of hot chocolate. So we walked across the street to Krispy Kreme. There I got a hot chocolate, and we sat and talked for a while. Brianna put my hair up in hair ties. We went back to Brianna's car and I wanted an orange juice from DD, so we went through the all night drive thru. It took us like 20 minutes to get the OJ. But it was good OJ.

Austin and I headed home, blastin' 5Fe. We started Big Fish, but were too tired to watch it all, so we just went to sleep. I left my hair tied up until I went to sleep, then I took it out cause I didn't want it stuck there.
Sunday I went to Grace church for the early service but I missed the actual message. I stayed after for the worship portion of the Mars Hill service. Paul Kyle was leading again, so that was wonderful. I left and got gas on my way over to CFC where I saw Irina and Lauren again, and then I saw Becky and Amanda. The first three left, and I went to the service with Amanda. I remembered to give Amanda stuff for Lauren, but I forgot to give her the DVD she let me borrow of her project from last year.
I went back over to Orange Park and met the Grace youth group for lunch. Kathryn let out a yelp when I arrived and that's about all the acknowledgement I received until I left when Jennifer and TJ said hi. I feel somewhat released of the group now. I don't feel very obligated to visit them anymore. Now I can visit the important people and not worry about the people who don't think much about me being able to visit.
I went back to the Webb's house after lunch. Brianna came over and all of us watched Big Fish (except Charlie who was playing a computer game). Austin left to go to the youth band practice at Grace. I hung out with Mrs. Webb and Brianna a while. I had wanted to go to the mewithoutYou show, but I wasn't ready to leave yet. I read some more Runny Babbit (I always read this out loud). I talked with Mrs. Webb a while, and then after some dinner I left.
I rested at a rest area about halfway. I made it home to my parents' house at about 05:30. The sun was rising, but I went down stairs, stirred up the fire (I was really glad it was still burning), and went to sleep on the couch. I got up about 2 hours later and took my nephew Zane up to school (him to daycare, me to school). After school, I went back to my parents' house and while going through some boxes downstairs I found some interesting things. The greatest by far was my unicycle. I decided I would stop by Wal-Mart on the way home and get a new tire for it, and then I'd learn to ride.
Well, that's what I spent all night doing. I spent hours getting up and falling down, and hurting my crotch. I'm better than when I started... but I still can't stay up for very long. Finally around 01:00 I decided to start on my homework, but I couldn't figure out the forth problem, so I went to sleep cause I was exhausted. I realized I hadn't really eaten anything all day. Two small pancakes in the morning, and then nothing except a few pieces of chocolate while trying to ride the unicycle... which had me dripping sweat at some points in time.
That's my weekend. Now I need to get back to my homework. I woke up really early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to update you guys, but now I must return to problem 4.
I'm sorry I didn't get to see everyone. I wish I had been able to see Jenny, Ryan, Brian, and Mike at the very least. If I've forgotten anyone, I'm sorry, but that might explain why we didn't see each other.
